Employee IDs
 allow the employee plus three immediate family members into home athletic events for no charge.

Transfers for employees’ children
Employees living outside the district may enroll their children in the Hutto Schools without being subject to any tuition charge. This does not include substitute teachers.

After school child care for employees’ school age children

The district, in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Williamson County has established after school care for school age children of employees. Contact the Hutto branch of the YMCA of Greater Williamson County for more information.

Employer-sponsored day care
The Little Hippo Child Development Center is an employer-sponsored child development center for employees’ children, ages six weeks to four years. Contact Myrtle Brown, Director of Little Hippo Childcare Development Center for program information.

Inclusive PPCD program
“Hand n’ Hand” 
is an inclusive pre-school program that accepts employees’ four year old children who are not serviced by special education. Enrollment is limited. Interested employees should contact Janet Reichardt, Director of Special Education.

College tuition and partial fee exemption for certified educational aides
House Bill 571, passed by the 75th Legislature, created a college tuition and partial fee exemption program for individuals who have been employed as certified educational aides for at least two years at a public school in Texas and who are attending a public institution of higher education in Texas to become certified as a teacher. This program became effective during the 1997 fall term. If you would like further information regarding college tuition and partial fee exemption, please contact the financial aid office of the college/university where you plan to enroll.

Sick leave bank/catastrophic illness:
Hutto ISD employees may join the Sick Leave Bank by donating one local personal day to the Bank. The purpose of the Sick Leave Bank is to provide additional leave days to members of the bank in the event of an unexpected extended illness, non-elective surgery, or a temporary disability due to an injury. Days may be requested only after the member has exhausted all accumulated state and local personal leave. Complete guidelines, membership form and application form can be found in the appendix.

Fund for continuing education
Upon meeting certain conditions, teachers wishing to work toward a master's degree in a content specific teaching field may receive partial financial aid toward the cost of state tuition and campus fees other than parking.

The cap may change each year depending upon available funding.

Teachers agree to remain with the district for the following school year, or, repay the total benefit to the district.

Applications for each school year will go out toward the end of the spring semester.

Funds will be used for courses leading towards a master’s degree in a content specific teaching field. Deadline for submission is May 31 of each year. Reimbursement occurs in June, after the school calendar year ends.

Requests for reimbursements are granted for the current school year only and do not apply to prior years.
