The Hutto ISD Board of Trustees has approved Jason McAuliffe as the Principal for Hutto Middle School beginning the 2017-18 school year. McAuliffe replaces Elizabeth Anderson, who is retiring at the end of the current school year. She has led the school since 2012.
“It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Principal of Hutto Middle School,” said Mr. McAuliffe. “I have had the opportunity to work alongside the great staff, students and parents of Hutto Middle School for the last three years in my role as an Assistant Principal. I am looking forward to working together to ensure that Hutto Middle School continues to reach new heights.”
Mr. McAuliffe earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Sam Houston State University. During his career, he has taught 5th grade technology at Huntsville Intermediate School, 7th grade special education at Mance Park Middle School and 7th grade Math Enrichment at Farley Middle School. In addition to teaching, he also served as a coach for football, basketball, and track. In May of 2014 he completed his Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University.
Mr. McAuliffe was promoted to Assistant Principal at Hutto Middle School in September of 2014. During his time at Hutto Middle School, the school has made significant strides in student achievement, resulting in multiple distinctions awarded by the State.
Mr. McAuliffe has been married for nine years to his high school sweetheart, Kim.
